Fox News Article Debunks "400,000 Death a Year" from Obesity
Claim
Fox News debunks the claim of the CDC that obesity is the cause of
400,000 deaths a year (up from 300,000 awhile ago). The same CDC
(Center for Disease Control) also reported WITHOUT the fanfare last
month, that US life expectancy - the most objective measure of public
health - reached an all-time high of 77.4 years in 2002, up from about
75.2 in 1990.
Gastric Bypass Surgery Dropped by Florida Blue Cross - Blue Shield
Company's chief medical officer and vice president for health care
services, said about three in every 1,000 patients die and up to 20
percent of patients return to the hospital for a second procedure.
There has also been a spike in demand for the surgery, which would
have cost the insurer about $200 million over the next few years and
could have lead to higher premiums.
Airlines Want Passengers Weighted
Afraid that they are "mis-judging" cargo/passenger loads and
causing planes to crash, airlines are considering "weighing passengers
periodically"... another reason for airlines to be fat-phobic and
where exactly are they going to weigh passengers - right in the front
of the ticket desk?
